# mygram-droid
A native Android TV app for browsing a self-hosted
[Foldergram](https://github.com/foldergram/foldergram) instance from the couch.
Point it at your instance once, then browse folders, photos and videos with
the TV remote.
## Status
Early development. Builds; on-device testing in progress.
## Build and install
Requires Docker and adb on the host; nothing else is installed.
./build.sh # debug APK in app/build/outputs/apk/debug/
./build.sh test # JVM unit tests
./deploy.sh # build, install on the TV over wireless adb, launch
On first launch the app scans the local network for Foldergram on port
4141, or takes a URL, then asks for the viewer password if the instance
has one.
## Planned features
- Folder list and per-folder feeds
- Fullscreen photo and video viewing
- D-pad navigation throughout
- Server address configured on first launch

## Development Approach
This project is developed using AI-assisted tools. Code is generated with the help of AI based on human-provided specifications, design decisions, and iterative feedback.
All contributions are reviewed, tested, and curated by the maintainer before being included in the codebase. AI is used as a productivity and exploration tool, while human oversight remains central to all decisions.
The goal is to combine the flexibility of AI-assisted development with standard open-source practices such as transparency, review, and accountability.
