6 dayssettings: pages edit a draft, and Save writes itDanilo M.1-1/+1
The qtmaildir, Assistant and Ask presets pages wrote a field on Enter, and a switch or chip the moment it was clicked, so a half-finished change reached the file and a slip could not be taken back. They now edit a draft as fields are typed, and a Save and Discard pair in the page header (SaveBar, through Page.actions) writes or drops it. Save waits while a field holds a value that cannot be written, and a draft over a file that changed on disk meanwhile is refused at Save rather than written over it. A dot in the sidebar marks a page with unsaved edits; drafts survive moving between pages. The four Mail pages share one draft, since they are one file. Tool switches are staged too and renamed on Save; model Load, Prefer and Restart stay immediate, being actions rather than settings. Live editing needed two rules. A field is no longer bound to its value, which would reset the cursor and eat a typed trailing space; it follows the value only when the draft moves under it. And a Repeater's model is now the set of row keys (or a count), assigned only when that set changes: an array rebuilt from the draft on each keystroke recreates every row, including the one being typed in, which loses its focus. Git, autostart's rows, HyprSunset, HyprIdle and User keep their own buttons. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
6 dayssettings: qtmaildir's config, in four Mail pagesDanilo M.1-0/+5
qtmaildir is configured through qtmaildir.conf alone, which it reads at startup and never writes. Four settings pages under a new Mail group edit it: Mail ([general], [sync], [completion]), Compose, Accounts (a card per account, add and remove) and Tags & shortcuts ([tagcolors] and [keys]). Fields save on Enter and unset when emptied, with qtmaildir's defaults as placeholders and numbers range-checked; the pages say when qtmaildir is running and a change waits for its restart. Ini.js edits the file line by line so its comments survive. Headers are only whole [name] lines: a section is never cut at the next "[", since values such as [Gmail]/Bozze hold brackets, the trap AGENTS.md records. The shortcut actions are copied from qtmaildir's KeyMap::knownActions() rather than exported by it, since a CLI flag there would have meant translations and a changelog entry; the field also takes free text, and the copy is marked as a ponytail ceiling. The settings sidebar now clips, which a list long enough to scroll showed it did not: entries drew over the search box. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
6 daysassistant: opening the canvas loads the preferred modelDanilo M.1-2/+9
A preferred model that only took effect from the settings page did nothing the next time another client had swapped it out. On this desktop one model and one client run at a time, so opening the canvas is when the assistant's model should come back: if the preferred one is neither loaded nor loading, it is loaded, and the canvas header says so until the router reports it in. The daemon still never asks for a model; with no preference set nothing changes. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
7 dayssettings: the assistant's daemon config, tools, and Ask presetsDanilo M.1-0/+3
Two settings pages for desktop-assistant. Assistant edits the daemon's config.toml: server, temperature, tool rounds, thinking, the system prompt, and the [env] values its tools read; a switch per tool renames tools/<name>.toml to .toml.off, which the daemon's glob skips. The daemon reads all of it at startup only, so the page says when a change is pending and Restart runs assistant.sh restart, showing its status when the daemon does not come back. The file is edited line by line, like autostart.lua, so the comments the example ships with survive: unset keys stay commented out in place. Every write parses the whole new file with tomllib first and replaces the old one atomically, so no edit can leave a config the daemon will not start with. Defaults are read from assistant.py --defaults rather than copied into QML. Ask presets edits the canvas's canned questions, which Prefs already stored for exactly this page: label, question, and the kinds each is offered for. They apply live. 7 daysdrawer: the settings gear moves from the grid to the user headerDanilo M.1-7/+0
The grid is for quick settings, and the window it opened is the opposite, so a tile for it sat wrong. The gear now sits at the right of the user header, a round button that closes the drawer and opens the settings window on its landing page. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
7 daysappearance moves into the settings windowDanilo M.1-3/+28
The appearance shell existed because a wallpaper picker needed more room than the 600px drawer, so it ran as its own process with a full-screen overlay. The settings window now gives it that room, and its five tabs become five settings pages in the desktop process: Wallpaper, Theme, Icons & cursor, Sunset and Idle. appearance/ is gone, and with it a process, a keepalive window and a layer blur rule. The files move to desktop/modules/appearance/ unchanged in what they do. Each tab gets a small *Module.qml; the window's refresh-on-open calls the singletons' refresh(), which the panel's show() used to. The two tabs that were inline Components in AppearancePanel become ThemeTab and WallpaperTab, owning the notices the panel printed. Sunset, Idle and Icons drop their own Flickable so the page scrolls them and search can reveal a row; the wallpaper list virtualises its rows and scrolls itself, so it takes the page's new viewHeight instead. Search finds a colour scheme and an icon or cursor theme by name. The appearance IPC target moves to desktop/shell.qml with the same verbs, so udt-steps and any keybind change only the path. Git now follows the appearance pages and autostart in the sidebar. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
7 daysdesktop: git config moves to the settings windowDanilo M.1-0/+1
The global git config is set once and left alone, which is what the settings window is for. The user row and its page stay in the drawer; "More git settings" there now closes the drawer and opens git in the window: Drawer.show hands any settings module to the window, so every deep link, IPC included, lands in the right place. Git was the only user of Module.up, the page back() returned to, so up goes with it and back from a drawer page is always the grid. Also gives autostart its rocket glyph, which the first commit wrote as an empty string. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
7 daysdesktop: a settings window, and autostart as its first pageDanilo M.1-0/+24
The drawer's tiles were turning into a full settings app. The drawer stays the quick area, live state and things toggled often; pages set once and left alone go to a settings window, a normal Hyprland toplevel listing them down the left. A module joins with settings: true, which also drops its tile. A gear tile and ipc call settings open|toggle reach it. Autostart edits hypr-theme's autostart.lua directly, line by line: an hl.exec_cmd line is an entry, behind -- it is disabled, everything else passes through. Edits refuse when their line moved since the parse, and writes are atomic because Hyprland reloads on every change. A wrong entry only shows at the next login, so adding is guided rather than a free text field: pick an installed app or type a command whose program must resolve on PATH before Add enables, then a workspace and silent, composed into a [workspace X silent] rule. Try runs the line through hyprctl dispatch so the rule applies as at login. Existing rows get no Try: they ran at login, and a second start stacks an instance. 7 daysnotes: drawer tile with count and the note listDanilo M.1-0/+2
The module resolves notes.sh's own paths by sourcing its rc, so a changed BASEDIR moves the page with it, and notes.sh's git test is the same one the page uses. A Module is a plain QtObject with no default property, so the config Process and the db.json FileView are typed properties, the shape UpdatesModule uses for its own Process. db.json is watched rather than read on open: the tile's count has to move when a note is added from either side, the CLI included, which is the same call mail makes for its unread count. The list reads db.json.notes rather than walking notes/, because that is where the titles are; entries sort newest first on the file timestamp and a title search filters them.
7 daysfeat(island): take a file drop for the assistantDanilo M.1-0/+1
A DropArea over the sliver grows into a bubble while a file drag is over it and hands file:// paths to the canvas. Co-Authored-By: Claude Haiku 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
7 daysfeat(desktop): host the assistant canvasDanilo M.1-0/+11
Inside the desktop process rather than its own shell: it needs no keepalive window of its own and restarts with the rest of the desktop. Co-Authored-By: Claude Haiku 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
7 daysfeat(git): the global git config pageDanilo M.1-0/+2
Every global value as a row under its section, in file order: Enter saves, Escape undoes, Remove drops that one value, and an Add row takes section.key and a value. Each write goes through gitcfg and is followed by a fresh list, so a row shows what git holds; a failure shows git's reason under its row. "Edit in editor" opens ~/.gitconfig in Sublime Text. No tile: up is "user", so back returns to the user page it opens from. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
8 daysfeat(user): a drawer page for the user's detailsDanilo M.1-0/+2
Name, email, avatar, language, location and the git signing key, each saved through userctl to every store that holds it. Only changed fields are sent; a field whose write failed keeps its edit and its error, so the next Save retries it. A failed userctl get reports a single error= line. The page shows it in red under the avatar, leaves saved and draft untouched, and disables Save until a later load succeeds. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
8 daysfeat(updates): the drawer tile and pageDanilo M.1-0/+2
The tile counts what can be installed now (Slackware and the binary repo) and what only needs a build, and goes accent when there is something to install. It runs updatesctl while the drawer is open and not otherwise; a result over 30 minutes old is followed by a refresh that runs nvchecker, never after a refresh, so a failing nvchecker cannot loop. The page has one section per next action: Slackware upgrades, new and removed first, then upgrade here, awaiting build, upstream newer, app updates, the order the work is done in. Each row names the package, the repo it comes from and the one version jump its action covers. A source that could not be read says so under the section it empties instead of reading as nothing pending. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
8 daysfeat(desktop): performance and clipboard pages, a scrolling tile gridDanilo M.1-1/+5
The tile grid sits in a Flickable capped at three rows, so the fourth row the new modules bring scrolls inside that box instead of eating the notification space; a thin accent bar in the margin shows only when a row is hidden. Tiles are reordered with the everyday ones first. Performance shows the island's PerfPanel in a Page, with a tile line of CPU and RAM and the warning dot. Perf.detailed is now a count of live PerfPanel instances instead of a binding in the status pill: the island and the drawer both host the panel, and a bool with two writers would let one clear it under the other. Clipboard reads cliphist when its page opens: search, copy on click or Enter, delete per row, clear all behind a 3 second confirm, image entries as thumbnails decoded once onto tmpfs. Entries reach sh as $1, never inside a command string. A copy closes the drawer through a new Page.dismiss signal the drawer connects like back. 8 daysrefactor(island): the controls panel goesDanilo M.1-7/+0
Each of its seven tiles opened a drawer page that already existed, and it went unused. SUPER alone will open the drawer instead. Removed with it: the status pill's controls icon, Island.toggleControls, the island IPC target, Controls.js and its test, and the controls list in Prefs. Prefs now holds only the pinned IP; a controls key left in desktop.json is still kept on write, because writes merge into the parsed document. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
11 daysfeat(island): controls panel in the status pill, island IPCDanilo M.1-0/+8
A settings icon in the status pill opens the controls panel in the same capsule the sound panel uses. Right-click on a tile closes the panel and opens its drawer page. The island IPC target reveals the island and toggles the panel, for the SUPER release bind. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
2026-10-07feat(island): the island window on DP-1Danilo M.1-1/+13
A fixed overlay strip that never resizes: the pills animate inside it and the input mask follows their rectangles, so resizing a layer surface during a morph never happens. Hidden behind a sliver that also carries the privacy colours; the clock pill drops alone for a workspace or app-open flick. shell.qml gains the UseQApplication pragma, which tray menus need, and the island holds itself shown while a tray menu is open, since the menu is a separate popup that would otherwise un-hover the pills and let the hide timer fire. The hold ends at the next hover. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
2026-10-05feat(ai): drawer page for the local AI stackDanilo M.1-0/+2
Engines are read-only, since stopping llama-server or sd-server takes its web UI down too. Apps start and stop through their own controls, detached so a start outlives a quickshell reload. Fanfictioner has no start (a run needs a story) and stops by pid, children first, so its sd-cli runs go with it and nothing else does. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
2026-09-15feat(desktop): add the status page and register the moduleDanilo M.1-0/+2
One row per mode. Adding a mode is one file in the singleton and one row here, which is what a registry buys over two separate toggles.
2026-09-15feat(desktop): add presentation mode and its effectsDanilo M.1-0/+4
Presentation mode sets DND, asserts a Wayland idle inhibitor and pauses breaktimer. The effects hang off the mode property rather than the setter, so a mode set with statusctl while the drawer is closed asserts them too. DND has two writers once presentation mode exists, so turning presentation off restores the value DND had before rather than clearing it, or an afternoon of hand-set DND would vanish when a talk ends. That prior value lives in the singleton, not in a file: it means nothing once presentation mode is off, and presentation mode does not survive a reboot. breaktimer owns its own state file and is driven only through its verbs. Two writers on that file would race with its daemon loop.
2026-09-15refactor(desktop): name the keepalive windowDanilo M.1-0/+5
IdleInhibitor needs a non-null window and this is the only one that lives for the whole session, so presentation mode attaches to it. Naming it is a prerequisite for that and changes nothing else.
2026-09-14feat(desktop): KDE Connect module, tile and pageDanilo M.1-0/+2
State is polled from kdeconnect-state.sh because there is no D-Bus module to subscribe with. The poll runs only while the drawer is open: the tile is created when the panel loads and destroyed when it unloads, and it flips the module's polling flag. The laptop reports no battery plugin, so an absent charge is an empty field and renders as nothing, never as a zero.
2026-09-14feat(desktop): bluetooth module, tile and pageDanilo M.1-0/+2
Native Quickshell.Bluetooth for adapter power, discoverable, scan, connect, disconnect, trust and forget. Pairing is separate, because quickshell ships no BlueZ agent. The adapter is null for the first ~2s, so every access is navigated safely rather than assuming a first paint.
2026-09-14feat(desktop): network module, live tile and wired pageDanilo M.1-0/+2
Wired first because it is the simpler half and proves the module wiring. Native Quickshell.Networking, no polling: the singletons push, and alwaysActive is true with no Service.qml because there is nothing to gate. The tile shows one line per active link rather than picking a primary, since the API exposes no route metric and guessing wrong would be worse than showing both.
2026-09-14feat(desktop): move vm-manager in as the vm moduleDanilo M.1-0/+2
Virsh.qml is unchanged; VmPanel's body becomes the page and the stat row becomes a Flow, because four stats with 150px bars do not fit a 600px drawer as one row. The page starts and stops Virsh.sampling, so the 2s poll runs only while something is looking at it; the lifecycle event stream still runs always, which is what keeps the tile's dots current.
2026-09-14feat(desktop): move mail-overview in as the mail moduleDanilo M.1-0/+2
Accounts.qml is unchanged and MailPanel's body becomes the page. The three scripts move with it, which changes the absolute paths in autostart and in the waybar module; both are outside this repo and listed in the plan's final task. Button.qml, byte-identical here and in vm-manager, lands at the shell root as the single copy.
2026-09-14feat(desktop): move volume-osd in as the sound moduleDanilo M.1-0/+2
VolumeOsd.qml did three jobs in one file: PipeWire tracking, the OSD surface and the player transport. They become Service, Osd and the page. The OSD keeps its namespace so the existing Hyprland blur rule still matches, and the service stays always-active because the OSD has to answer a keypress with no drawer open.
2026-09-14feat(desktop): the appearance tileDanilo M.1-1/+4
A tile with no page: appearance stays its own process because a wallpaper picker needs more room than a 600px drawer, so the tile only fires its existing IPC. This is the case the contract's activate() exists for.
2026-09-14feat(desktop): the drawer, with the top reservedDanilo M.1-4/+23
Left of DP-1 because conky holds the right; ExclusionMode.Normal so the bar the drawer is reached from stays visible and clickable. The top is an empty Item claiming the space the notification engine will fill, so the grid already sits where it will sit once that lands.
2026-09-14feat(desktop): skeleton shell with the keepalive windowDanilo M.1-0/+29
The window draws nothing and catches nothing; it exists because a quickshell config with no visible window exits silently, and this shell's drawer is closed most of the time.
