WScreenSavers is a native Wayland screensaver, lock screen and live wallpaper suite. It ships 23 WebGL/Canvas savers, runs the stock XScreenSaver hacks through Xvfb, locks the screen with PAM (or hands off to hyprlock/swaylock) and can run any saver as an animated wallpaper on wlroots compositors (Hyprland, Sway, River, Wayfire) and KDE. This SlackBuild targets Slackware -current, which ships Go, nodejs, gtk-layer-shell, PAM, xscreensaver and Xvfb. It builds offline from a vendor tarball holding the Go modules and the frontend's npm packages, so it is x86_64 only. Upstream ships a systemd user unit, which is not installed. Start the idle daemon from your compositor's autostart, e.g. in Hyprland: exec-once = WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 wscreensavers --daemon Optional: wlr-randr (multi-monitor detection on wlroots), hyprlock or swaylock (external lock providers), rss-glx (more 3D savers). Upstream shows a support reminder at startup. Delete /usr/share/wscreensavers/nag to disable it; package upgrades restore it. The Noctalia plugin sources are installed to /usr/share/wscreensavers/noctalia-plugins/wscreensavers. Copy that directory to ~/.config/noctalia/plugins/ to use it.
