# is_installed

Search installed packages on Slackware (and derivatives), and find which
package contains a given file. Reads the package database in
`/var/log/packages`.

## Usage

```
is_installed <item>               # search package names for <item>
is_installed file-search <item>   # search file contents of every package for <item>
is_installed info <item>          # less the manifest of the single match (lists candidates if many)
is_installed help                 # show help
```

## Install

System-wide:

```
install -m 0755 is_installed /usr/local/bin/is_installed
install -m 0644 is_installed.bash-completion \
    /usr/share/bash-completion/completions/is_installed
```

Per-user (no root, needs `~/bin` on your PATH):

```
install -Dm0755 is_installed ~/bin/is_installed
```
